Spring is around the corner (yay!) and with it comes a lot of positivity.

For starters, our children have returned to schools and we may be able to finally meet up with our family members soon again!

What a wonderful change for us all.

It may also give us some extra time to make some changes to our homes!

Out with the cold and dreary weather, out with the clutter and the pent-up frustration you’ve felt around the house.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at some ways to add a touch of spring (and more joy with it) to your home!

INTERIOR

Nature will soon begin to show signs of fresh life and colour so why not match it with a bright interior?

You will be pleasantly surprised just how much life lighter shades for your furniture, walls, or home accessories bring into your house.

FLOWERS

Add flowers everywhere!

Whether you choose real or artificial flowers, they will do wonders!

Real flowers or plants have that genuine spring vibe but artificial ones do not require any special attention other than you enjoy it. 😉

SPRING ARTS AND CRAFT

This is a great opportunity for creative children! Go to Pinterest for inspiration and create some amazing spring crafts together. Enjoy it and have fun!

PILLOWS

Get rid of those heavy, dark pillows on sofas that retain that winter vibe and replace them with some fun, light ones. This simple trick will make a massive difference and bring more calmness to your home.

FRESH SCENTS

If you use Glade plug-ins, fresh-smelling aromas will perfectly reflect the spring mood. You can choose from a range of scents, for instance, Aqua Waves, Spring Limited Edition, or Sky & Sea Salt.

Another option is scented candles, diffusers, or fragrance sticks.

STORAGE

Do you feel the urge to get rid of all that built-up clutter from old magazines to outworn clothing to old toys that are past their donate/chuck by date?

De-cluttering is definitely a great way to create more space in your home (and your mind with it), however it can take some time to get it done.

If you are looking for a quick solution, then storage baskets is the way forward! At this day and age you can choose from a range of baskets that are both practical and stylish!

FLOORING

A carpet or rug can store heat in winter, but during the warmer months, you want to keep your home cool.

One of the best ways, although not the easiest, to make this happen is to get more practical flooring. Vinyl flooring is anti-stain and easy to clean so it’s perfect for those who don’t want to be stuck inside cleaning during the spring months! 😉

GARDEN

Last year’s lockdown saw a lot of interest in garden space and this ‘trend’ will likely continue even after lockdown.

Your garden can provide a great relaxing space with some cosy chairs. You can find great second hand garden furniture either online or in your local charity shop. Other great options can be padded chair covers.

Perfect for those warm late family evenings! 😉

PICTURES

Replace the old pictures on your walls or shelves with the new ones, or simply switch them around.

By revolving and alternating between different pictures and hanging items, you can constantly keep things lively for the year ahead and always keep things fresh.

These are just a handful of creative tips to get your home feeling the spring sunshine even on a rainy afternoon!
