I am excited to announce the launch of my new online course I put together with an NHS midwife Marley Hall to help prevent new or expectant mothers from falling into the trap of postnatal depression during COVID-19 and beyond.

The course is called Get Prepared for Motherhood Like No One Else and it bridges the gap between expectations about motherhood and the reality as well as revealing the untold secrets about motherhood many perinatal classes don’t talk about.

It goes from basic relationship tips to how to prevent PND with an added layer of COVID-19 content and Ivana is donating 10% of profits to the Special Baby Care Unit at Barnet Hospital where she was supported.

I understand that being a new mother can be hard enough at the best of times, but given that so many new mums are getting to grips with motherhood in isolation, this course will give them tools and tricks to get to grips with what’s going on and not succumb to what could be potentially life-threatening psychosis. With the lockdown lines blurred, this can add even more worries and confusion on new mothers who are not sure what to do.

Marley Hall, an NHS midwife, and course co-instructor said: “The journey to motherhood can be a wonderful and exciting time for women but it can also be full of questions, concerns and undoubtedly worry. Although every pregnancy, birth, and new motherhood story is unique, It’s essential that mums prepare themselves for every eventuality and equip themselves with the tools to make informed decisions and know where to access support should they need it.

“‘Get prepared for motherhood like no one else’ not only informs women about some of the practical aspects of birth but also gives an insight into the realities of postpartum life for some women, enabling them to keep an open mind and enter this huge stage of their lives with confidence and knowledge.”
